Welcome to Maidstone
Maidstone is Kent's premier Town - though of course, some
others might not agree with that statement.
Dating back to the 10th Century, and once being owned by The
Archbishop of Canterbury, it goes without saying that the town boasts quite a
number of historic buildings.
It is in the process of modernisation, but unlike it's well
known MP Ann Widdecombe - who managed the 'change of image' by way of brunette
to blonde in one visit to the hairdresser - there are still a few odd streaks of
the 'old hair' of Maidstone to suggest that another visit (or two) may still be
necessary!
However, as shoppers and night-lifers will testify - Maidstone
is alive, well, and certainly kicking!
Restaurants abound - serving food from all parts of the globe,
and the night scene seems to be more than adequately catered for.
